In Cub Scouts, each rank is associated with the child's current grade level. Kindergartners start as Lions, 1st graders start as Tigers, 4th graders start as Webelos, etc. Whatever the current grade level is, that's the year rank the child works on. They do not work on ranks from previous years to earn the next one.

In each year, a Cub Scout earns their rank for that year by completing adventures. Each year has six required adventures that follow the same themes of Character & Leadership, Outdoors, Personal Fitness, Citizenship, Personal Safety, and Family & Reverence. In addition to the six required adventures, Scouts must also complete two elective adventures of which there are many to choose for each year.

When Scouts complete adventures, they earn either a belt loop (Lions through Bears) or pins (Webelos and Arrow of Light) to display on their uniform.

Cub Scouts are organized into groups called Dens with other children in their same grade level. Den meetings, which may range from once a month to once a week, is when Scouts work on requirements for their adventures. Scouts may also have the opportunity to work on adventures during camping trips, other outings, and Pack meetings.

Pack meetings are when the entire Pack, meaning all Dens/age groups meet together. Pack meetings occur once a month. For Pack 910, this is usually on Friday evenings at the end of each month. Pack meetings are designed for the kids to all have fun together, promote a sense of community for our Pack families, to recognize the kids for their achievements, and to share information about upcoming events.

Some Pack meetings are special events. These include the Pinewood Derby (where Scouts build and race wooden cars down a track) and the Blue and Gold dinner (a full family event with catered dinner and entertainment). At the end of each year, Scouts particpate in a special Crossover Pack meeting where they are awarded their rank for that year and progress to their next year of Scouting in a special ceremony with their families.
